Setting up VPN for Windows

If you're a commuter or if you're off-campus and you need access to campus-only resources, you need to download and use the Virtual Private Network (VPN) client.
Download the Client
The client is available at https://vpnsetup.case.edu/vpn3000.html
Be sure to select the appropriate client.

Installing the Client
  1. Double click on the downloaded file. The set-up wizard will automatically run.
  2. If you receive any warnings from Windows, simply answer yes to allow the changes.
  3. Click through the wizard accepting all the default settings.
  4. Click Finish at the end of the install.
VPN should now install. After it installs, restart the computer. Once the system has restarted, the VPN client is now ready to be used.

Connecting to VPN
Choose Start > Programs > Cisco Systems VPN Clients > Vpn Client

To connect, click Connect, and the client will verify itself with the VPN server. It will then ask for the Case User ID and password to be entered. Once the User ID and password have been verified, the VPN client is finally connected and a gold lock icon will show up in the taskbar, located in the lower right corner of the desktop screen.
