I forward my mail, will Spam Control still work?

Viruses and Spam filtering happens before your account is forwarded so yes, if you forward your Case email to another email account, you will still get Spam Control. However, setting your mail service to detect the Junk Mail flag is slightly different. You will need to make a filter in your email program to move incoming messages with a header of X-Junkmail: UCE into your junk mail folder.

Note: alumni and other former faculty or staff do not get Spam Control. Emerati professors are considered current faculty to the mail system.

If you forward another account to your Case account, (Such as forwarding your Weatherhead Exchange email account to your Case email account) those messages will enter the Spam Control system just the same as directly addressed new messages and will undergo filtering for Spam and Viruses.
