Making a Spam Control Filter in Eudora for the Macintosh (POP Users)

If you have enabled Spam Control for your Case email account, you will need to make a Junk folder and filter in your email program.
Note: Only use these instructions if you are using POP mail, if you are using IMAP follow the mail.case.edu instructions. A folder will automatically be created in Eudora after setting it up on mail.case.edu. An explanation of POP and IMAP.

To create a folder in Eudora and set it up for the Spam Control Junk Mail filter you will need to:
  1. Open Eudora.
  2. Go to Mailbox and choose 'new' to make a new folder. Note if you already have a Junk folder, you do not need to make a new one.
  3. Go to 'Window' and select 'Filters.'

  4. Click 'New'
    click new
  5. Create the new filter as follows. Select 'Incoming Header' as 'Any header' leave the next box as 'ignore' and under the Action section select 'Transfer to'. A pop up window will tell you to click on 'transfer' at the top of your screen to select the folder to transfer it to.

  6. You are now done creating the filter! Close the filters window. Choose 'Save' when prompted.
