How Spam Control works

How does Spam Control work?
For Spam Control to work properly, you do need to both enable it and set up a filter in your email program. See our instructions.

All email messages will be flagged with a line in the message header such as:
X-Junkmail-Status: score=141/45

meaning that the sample message scored 141 'spam' points out of 45 points allowed legitimate mail. If you have spam control enabled, it will flag this message as spam with a line saying: X-Junkmail: UCE in the header and a +junkmail next to 'original recipient'.

Below is a flow chart of how Spam Control deals with an email message.
