Web-Authoring Tools and Resources (Aurora)

A list of links to helpful tools and resources if you are the maintainer of a department's or Case group's website.

NOTE: This solution is intended only for those who must maintain their department's or organization's website on Case's Aurora server.

Case ITS offers a complete toolkit to help you with building and maintaining your department's or organization's website.

Tools

Web Toolkit
  • Case's page for web developers. Contains useful information, templates, and other web-building tools.

Aurora Project Admin System Toolkit

  • Includes tools for gathering statistics on web traffic on your site.

Page Template

  • Intended to give all Case sites a consistent look; nevertheless, there is a wide choice of colors and complexity.

Generic Feedback System

  • Allows developers to place a means of feedback to track users' experiences on the site.

AutoFooter

  • Tool that places a consistent footer at the bootom of each page on the website. Can include address, phone number, date, etc.

AutoBase

  • Base HREFs shortened links that go to pages within the same website. The links are relative rather than absolute.

AutoIndex

  • Builds an index of plain text files within a directory.

Imagemaps

  • Allows developers to break an image into different regions so that clicking on different parts of the image will take a user to different pages.

Using CGI on Aurora

  • A robust scripting language that allows for user-based input on a webpage. Developers can run scripts on Aurora.
