Calendar

The University has a shared calendar program: Oracle CorporateTime Calendar.

What is it?

With all our conflicting schedules and interests, it can be hard to know when to do what. A shared calendar program makes things simpler. The University has a license for Oracle Corporate Time Calendaring. When you use CorporateTime, not only can you see when your scheduled meetings are, you can see when the people you work with are busy, invite them to join you for specific meetings and so on.

How do I do it?

There are two ways to use CorporateTime, and frequently people use both methods.
  1. The Web Page or
  2. The Client
The web page has the advantage that it requires no set up. It has fewer features than the client, however, and can be slow depending on the network connection where you are. Frequently people will use the Client primarily and the web page when they are not at their usual computer. The web page is http://Calendar.case.edu. (Note: On campus you can usually just type 'calendar' into your web browser making it even easier!)

The Client you download to your computer and launch like any other program, just like you launch solitaire if you want to play cards. Download the client and then double click on it to install. Download the client and user guide appropriate for your computer.

Logging In is simple. Either type in Calendar.case.edu as a web address or open up the Client on your computer. The sign-in screen will appear, if you are on the web page, just enter your regular CASE Username and password. If you are using the client you do the same. However, if it is the first time you've opened the client there are a few extra steps:
  • Click on the other... button to bring up the Connection Manager, and click on the button labeled New....
  • In the connection editor, assign the connection any name you want, we recommend Case Calendar.
  • Type in the server name calendar-server.case.edu and click Lookup. The program should then automatically detect the settings. Click OK.
  • If you want this connection to be the default, click on the connection name to highlight it and click Make Default. Click OK again to continue.
The sign-in screen will reappear. You now have the choices of signing on offline or to the server. Select your preference (For example, if you do not have a good network connection, you might want to use it off line.) and enter your username and password. You're in! Now... how to use CorporateTime?

Note: Some users may have their Case UserIDs rejected or not accepted upon entry into the login field.  Please try placing your first name and last name in the field and your Case ID password into the password field.  This may resolve some login problems.  If not, please contact the Help Desk.

Using CorporateTime

Note, the web page and the downloaded client look different from each other and some instructions vary depending on how you are viewing your calendar.

What's this Outlook Connector thingy?

CorporateTime has a Connector program that will let you use Microsoft Outlook to see your CorporateTime Calendar. It only works in Microsoft Windows and is not recommended. If you do decide to set up the Outlook Connector, be warned that a single mistake can result in unrecoverable data loss.

Setting up the Outlook Connector.

Can I sync CorporateTime with my PDA?
