Cannot install Adobe Acrobat
Some people have gotten an error when installing adobe acrobat on XP home and pro machines that says they do not have permission to install adobe to a folder.
The folder is:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents
There is a simple fix for this, but it varies from XP Pro to XP home
For XP Pro:
Open 'My Computer', click 'Tools' then 'folder options'. Click the 'view' tab, and scroll to the bottom and make sure 'Use Simple File Sharing' is not checked. Click ok, then go to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users
Right click on the 'Documents' folder, which may be called 'Shared Documents', and go to 'properties'. Clcik the 'Security' tab, and add 'EVERYONE' and give them full access. Now Install Adobe Acrobat, or continue the install if you were already doing that.
For XP Home:
Reboot into 'Safe Mode'. Login to the machine with the administrator account. Now follow the directions for XP Pro. When finished, reboot and retry the installation.
And you're done
