Canvas for Macintosh

What is Canvas?

Canvas is a program for graphics, animations and presentations. Currently the only version on the Software Center is for Macintosh OS 8 or 9. These instructions were written using Canvas 7, if you have an earlier or later version the installation may vary.

So, How do I install it?

  1. On the Software Center webpage, click on Macintosh Download download icon next to Canvas. The download should automatically begin in a few seconds. If it doesn't, click the word 'here' to begin the download. Your Download Manager should open.

  2. The Canvas installer screen shot will now be on your desktop. Double click on it.
  3. If you have Norton Antivirus running, you may get an error to suspend alerts. Click Yes.
  4. You will get a 'Software Successfully Installed' message. Click 'Quit'. Canvas is now installed! You may delete the installer off of your desktop now, we're done with it.
  5. There are updates for Canvas, click on the asterisks next to Macintosh Dowload on the Software Center webpage to update your Canvas.
