Key Access for Macintosh
What is Key Access?
Just like a regular key unlocks a door, Key Access unlocks a program. It's small (only about 800 kb) fits into your computer neatly and is there to unlock site licensed programs when you need them. A site licensed program is any program that you do not buy or install outright from the Software Center, but share the use of with the rest of the University Community. Note: You must be connected to the internet to use Key Access.
So, How do I install it?
- On the Software Center webpage, click on Mac Download
next to Key Server Client. The download should automatically begin in a few seconds. If it doesn't, click the word 'here' to begin the download.
- Download Manager may pop up. Once the file has finished downloading, you should have KSClient_v61.dmg
on your desktop. Double-click on it to install KeyAccess.
- When you are prompted to save to disk, click OK.
- Mac Installer will start. Double-click K2Client.mpkg to continue the installation.
- For most of the installation, simply click Continue in the lower right corner of the Installer.
- After you have clicked through the verification screens, click Install.
- Type keyserver.case.edu and click OK.
- And you are done. You must restart your Mac before KeyAccess will work.
- Note You may put KSClient_v61.dmg into the trash once you have installed KeyAccess.
Using Key Access
Key Access will automatically log on when you restart your Macintosh.
