Mathtype for the Macintosh

What is MathType?

MathType is a program that lets you add complex equations to Word documents and Web pages.

So, How do I install it?

  1. On the Software Center webpage, click on Macintosh Download screen shot next to MathType. The download should automatically begin in a few seconds. If it doesn't, click the word 'here' to begin the download.
  2. Your Download Manager should pop up.

    When it's done there will be a file named MathType3.7.dmg on your desktop. Double click on the file to run it.

  3. A window will open with the program folder and a number of documents. Read the message from the Software Center, and write down the registration number inside.  Then, double click on the install file in the folder and enter your name and registration information in the pop up window and click OK. Then click on Install, then on Continue.
  4. Click on Restart to finish the installation. You are now done installing MathType!
