Mathtype for Windows

What is MathType?

MathType is a program used by mathematics and science classes. It allows you to add complex equations to Word documents and Web pages.

So, How do I install it?

  1. On the Software Center webpage, click on Windows Download download icon next to MathType. The download should automatically begin in a few seconds. If it doesn't, click the word 'here' to begin the download.
  2. Double click on the install file, and click next at the welcome screen.
  3. Write down the licence code from the pop-up message and click OK.

  4. Select Unlock MathType (the default setting), enter your name and licence code in the registration window. Click OK, then Yes.
  5. A window may pop up asking you to find the location of the file "pro.msi" If this happens, type the following url into the location box: http://liveupdate.case.edu/office/pro.msi

  6. Click enter to finish the install. And you're done installing MathType!
