A demonstration of the wireless broadband project which is intended to bring wireless networking to the community was staged in conjunction with Case for Community Day on Wednesday, September 13.
OneCommunity has issued the following statement about this exciting project:
A demonstration of wireless applications was staged at Case Western Reserve University in conjunction with their Case for Community Day on Wednesday, September 13 in partnership with OneCommunity and many others. This event marked an exciting step towards realization of a community wireless mesh and served to demonstrate applications that helped improve our community’s access and quality of healthcare, education and community outreach. The press and public response has been terrific.
The wireless project is moving forward and expansion efforts beyond our initial demonstration area continue. Working with government planning departments, utilities, and other partners, we strive to conclude this expansive pilot project over the next several months.
We thank you for your interest and will post progress reports on this initiative in coming weeks on our new website that will be launched concurrently at www.OneCommunity.org.
