Account Alert messages

Over the weekend, a number of users received email messages claiming to be from `abuse@case.edu' with the subject `Account Alert'. The message asks the recipient to `confirm your e-mail'. This is a "phishing" attack. The messages are not legitimate and should be discarded. ITS will never ask for your password or account information via email.
