What happens when you leave Case?
Normally, your email account will continue for 180 days after leaving the university. See the policy statement at: http://cnswww.cns.case.edu/net/netinfo/leaveCWRU.html for details. Alumni need to apply for an Alumni account (do this before your 180 days are up to ensure no loss of service!)and will then have indefinate Email Forwarding privileges, for more information and to sign up for email forwarding see the Alumni Services webpage: http://www.case.edu/alumni/emailf.html.
Unfortunately, other access such as the Software Center, Calendaring, and Library resources end. Although technically you lose your access the moment you leave the University, there is usually a bit of a grace period. Note: Alumni can sign up for continued library borrowing privileges with Library Administration. There is a small fee.
You will also need to return any network equipment (network cards, cables etc.) that belong to the university. If you bought the equipment it's yours. If the computer is staying (for example a departmental machine, not that you sold it to a fellow student) the equipment should be signed out to your department and does not have to be returned or re-issued.
If you are a departmental system administrator, any departmental servers, machines or other network devices that are registered to you should be re-registered to either your replacement or someone else in the department. If the systems remain registered to you, network support people will think you are the contact person if there is a problem with any of those systems.
