Why should I change the registration information of a network device?
Updated network records help to ensure the security of the Case network.
When information relating to a network device changes, the owner is required to update the information with the appropriate ITS department. This allows us to keep accurate records of devices and can help ensure the security of the network as a whole.
Network devices include computer systems, network printers, laboratory equipment, network scanners, communications devices, and many others.
Contact the Help Desk by calling x4357 when you plan on:
- Moving a network card from your computer to someone else's
- Removing a network device from the network.
- For example: You throw away an old computer that was on the network.
- Changing the owner of a network device.
- For example: Someone new takes ownership of a departmental computer.
