Your Computer's Name - Windows ME
- Right click on My Network Places or Network Neighborhood and choose Properties
If you can't find My Network Places or Network Neighborhood, go to Start, choose 'Settings' and then 'Control Panel'. In the Control Panel there is one called 'Network', double click on it.
- Click on 'Identification' tab
- Type in the computer name.
This is also where you can enter a workgroup if you like, most people set it to their office or building. For example 'Tyler' is a good workgroup for someone who lives in Tyler House. 'EPBI' is a good workgroup for someone who works in Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
- Click 'OK' your computer will ask you if you want to restart, say yes. You're done!
- Now, if you have not already change your registered Hostname to match!
